and includes an open forum for, among other things, new ideas, radical
views, and controversial
issues.
The
broad scope of OAK GROVE ORACLE includes audio and visual components and
information on
alternative lifestyles, gay identity, history and contributions, politics,
spirituality, and creative arts. It
contains within its pages regular sections including illustrations,
photography, videos, spoken word,
music, and other multimedia expression.

We'll
contact you if your submission is selected. We sometimes hold material for
future development.
Contributors receive a written credit that appears with their work and the
option to include their
e-mail contact information.
While
most work will be submitted electronically, a self-addressed stamped
enveloped will ensure the
return of your originals.
Please
include the Submissions Request Form along with
your work. We print the names of
all contributors.
Contributors may be reached through OAK GROVE ORACLE.
We do not give out the addresses of users
or contributors, although OAK GROVE ORACLE will forward mail to them.
E-mail will only be given with
your permission.
Writings:
At
this time, there is no segment for reader-written articles or poetry.
We recommend that users
consider submitting their written works to Radical Faerie Digest (RFD),
which is a reader-written
journal. OAK GROVE ORACLE
does not have a formal relationship with RFD.
For more information on
RFD, please see their website located at
www.rfdmag.org.
Spiritual essays may be appropriate for
White Crane, which is also open to public submissions, please see their
website located at
www.whitecranejournal.com.

Request Form.
You may send OAK GROVE
ORACLE your materials in the
mail to the San Diego office at the address below.
Audio:
Tribal Beats is an audio feature,
and as such we do not take text submissions. All submissions must
be in MP3 format
to save on size for transmission by e-mail. Please make sure that
the audio quality is acceptable. You do not need
to have the best production facilities but please ensure that the sound
level is not distorted or full of white noise.
Occasional clicks and buzzes are okay. Audio features, music or
spoken word, should be kept to approximately
under 3 minutes. At this time we request that all performances be
in English and/or include an English translation.
Spoken Word pieces should include a sign off with your real or Faerie
name - you may want to end the piece with
the title and your name:
Example; when I have
ended my piece, I will pause, then say the title of the piece followed
with "by Pipa Phalange, - Bright Blessings to You."

Request Form.
You may send OAK GROVE
ORACLE your materials in the
mail to the San Diego office at the address below.
Video:
The time allotted each video is limited to FOUR (4)
minutes and to 30
megabytes final data size. This
includes your
titles and credits.
OAK GROVE ORACLE does not accept analog (videotape) submissions. Your
submission must be
received as a digital video file. We recognize that there are a number
of different possible file types for digital video
playback. We recommend that you use MPEG-2 for your digital video. This
digital video format is playable through
a number of common desktop video players and will be viewable by
reviewers. Note: If you are using analog videotape
and converting it to digital, you will likely introduce compression
artifacts (motion blur, pixilation, audio noise, etc.).
Please take this into account by planning your video accordingly: a
lengthy video, at 30 megabytes final data size,
will have to be considerably compressed. Therefore, fast, sweeping
motions will generally result in dropped frames
and appear choppy to the viewer.
